Two studios in the Rhineland-Palatinate region, Binary Impact and Alchemical Works, have announced the start of production on two computer games. Both titles are being developed in close collaboration between the two companies, with support from local funding.

Binary Impact in Niederelbert and Alchemical Works in Mainz have announced the start of production on two computer games. The two studios are working closely together on both titles, which are receiving funding from the German Federal Government's computer games funding programme and the Rhineland-Palatinate state media funding programme. Aerosoft is also supporting the productions as an additional partner.

Binary Impact is responsible for the technical implementation and project management, while Alchemical Works handles the creative and conceptual direction. As reported last week, Medienförderung RLP awarded €35,000 of funding to Alchemical Works for the production/development of Wildest Catch and €32,000 to Binary Impact for Forsenik Simulator.

Alain Brunotte, Managing Director of Alchemical Works UG, said: "The fact that this co-production is now becoming a reality is a direct result of targeted networking and reliable support from the Medienförderung Rheinland-Pfalz. This is exactly the kind of concrete result we want to see from state funding, and we see it as a real boost for sustainable creative industries in the region."

"The potential of the games industry is now also being recognised at a political level," says Jens Wiechering, Managing Director of Binary Impact GmbH. "The support provided by the federal and state governments goes beyond mere symbolism - it is strategically smart, targeted, and crucial for creating long-term value."

"The combination of local roots and supraregional cooperation strengthens the production sites and the visibility of Rhineland-Palatinate as a development location. The launch of these two productions demonstrates how funding instruments and entrepreneurial initiative can collaborate successfully, which is a positive signal for Germany as a location for games," write both studios.

Binary Impact's focus is on both industrial projects and gaming. Its latest game, Parking World, received €182,919 in funding from the German government. The game was also published by Aerosoft. Alchemical Works is renowned for its debut title, BattleJuice Alchemist, which won the Epic MegaGrant and other awards. This project received €73,674 in funding from the German government.
