At the start of the Southern Hemisphere's summer months, Africa Games Week comes to Cape Town from 2-4 December 2024. The event aims to foster understanding of Africa’s gaming scene internationally in its seventh year.

Africa Games Week, the continent's most important games industry event dedicated to showcasing and empowering the African gaming industry, is coming at the end of the year, in the Southern hemisphere’s summer months. From 2-4 December 2024, Africa Games Week will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, with various side events and excursions reaching up to 7 December.

“Africa Games Week plays a critical role in the African gaming ecosystem, providing a unique platform for local developers to connect with international publishers, younger studios, incubators, and industry leaders,” the organisers say.

The event includes workshops for industry attendees, an expo area as well as a B2B matchmaking platform designed to promote collaboration and innovation within the industry.

The first tickets for the event are currently on sale, starting at 80 US-Dollar for the full week (about 72,50 euros currently), with student tickets available to African students for 27 US-Dollars. The schedule will be published on the website in the coming months.

Africa Games Week was founded in 2018 by Nick Hall and Rex Bowden to foster understanding of Africa’s gaming scene internationally. It is organised by Hall and Bowden in collaboration with Event Director Alexandra Pattison.
