Update from 1 September 2025:
One month after release, ZoroArts and Assemble are celebrating 50,000 sales on Paddle Paddle Paddle. The game had gained traction through content creators not only from the German-Speaking area.
In a statement to GamesMarkt, Covic explains: "When I had the idea for Paddle Paddle Paddle in March while taking a shower, I just wanted to make a small and fun rage game in a single month. After releasing the demo within 2 weeks of total development I realised the big potential of this game and decided to take a few more months and release the full game in July. With the help from my publisher Assemble Entertainment the game sold more than 50,000 units one month after launch... I'm super happy and excited about the launch and I am already working on new content for the future of Paddle Paddle Paddle. I'm a 22 years old solo dev and this game showed me that believing in a simple game-idea and avoiding feature creep by limiting your mechanics can pay off big time."
Original from 31 July 2025:
The first cooperation between solo developer Mateo Covic alias ZoroArts and Assemble Entertainment is a commercial success: In the five days since release on 26 July 2025, the game has already sold 10,000 units.
“I’m very excited for the future fays since more and more videos and streams happen right now and it all feels like a snowball starts to roll”, Covic said on LinkedIn. “Im a 22 years old solodev and student, so I cannot make the jump to develop games fulltime yet, but its a pretty good release so far and might help me a lot on my journey!”
The game has received a lot of traction on Steam, with two days of pre-launch existence in the Popular Upcoming tab and the last four days in the New & Trending tab of Valve’s storefront.
