Lieferando is increasingly becoming a sales channel for games. Following a cooperation with MediaMarktSaturn, which also sells games, GameStop is now opening its own order shop. 19 stores in 16 cities will be connected in a few days, with more to follow in early 2024.

The initial range of products in the order shops GameStop has opened on Lieferando is around 200. But the plan is to expand quickly. The same applies to the network of connected stores from which orders are fulfilled via Lieferando. According to the company, the new express service, which delivers consoles, games and accessories to your door in around 35 minutes, will be offered by 19 stores in 16 cities in just a few days. In addition to the major cities of Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt and Cologne, the service will also be available in Aachen, Augsburg, Bonn, Braunschweig, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Essen, Kiel, Hanover, Münster, Nuremberg and Stuttgart. More than 65 stores in other cities will be added early next year.

It is noticeable that Berlin is not included as a location. It is unclear whether this is related to Lieferando's current trial with MediaMarkt Saturn in the German capital. Lieferando has been delivering goods from their stores to consumers there since May. The product range was only expanded to include games in October.

"GameStop scores with excellent service and fast delivery. Both are part of our strategy, and with Lieferando we are taking delivery to the next level," says Detlef Hentzel, Country Manager GameStop in Germany. The combination of our store network and Lieferando's delivery service gives gaming fans a uniquely spontaneous supply of the latest software and hardware directly from their nearest store. This allows us to seamlessly connect online and offline retail right to the customer's door, skipping same-day delivery in favour of instant delivery.

Javier Naval Parra, Head of Food and Retail at Lieferando, adds: "We are delighted to welcome GameStop as an exclusive partner on our platform. Video games are one of the top interests of the Lieferando community and they will love using our platform as a one-stop-shop for good food and gaming."
