Having filed for insolvency at the end of February 2026, Nacon requested that the Lille Métropole Commercial Court open judicial reorganisation proceedings at the beginning of March. In this context, the company has announced that four of its subsidiaries - the game development studios Cyanide, Kylotonn and Spiders, as well as the motion capture company Nacon Tech - have filed for insolvency with the Lille Métropole Commercial Court and requested the opening of judicial reorganisation proceedings in their favour.
Cyanide, founded in 2000, was acquired by the French publisher Bigben Interactive (now Nacon) in May 2018. The studio is best known for its Pro Cycling Manager and Tour de France franchises, and its most recent release was Styx: Blades of Greed (February 2026). Kylotonn, founded in 2006, was acquired by Nacon in October 2018. They are renowned for their racing games, particularly the official World Rally Championship games released between 2015 and 2023. However, their latest racing game, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown (2024), fell short of expectations. Spiders, founded in 2008, was acquired by Nacon in July 2019. The studio is best known for its (action) role-playing games, including Of Orcs and Men, The Technomancer, GreedFall, Steelrising and GreedFall 2: The Dying World, the latter of which was released on 10 March 2026.
With the help of its advisers and judicial administrators, the French company has started to draw up a restructuring plan for itself and its subsidiaries. Nacon: "The aim of these proceedings is to enable the Company to identify, under the best possible conditions, solutions to ensure the sustainability of its business, renegotiate its debt with its creditors and protect its employees within a stable environment."
Nacon is a company within the Bigben Group, established in 2019. Based in Lesquin, France, the company has subsidiaries in several countries, including France, Germany, the Benelux countries, Italy, Spain, Canada and Hong Kong, as well as 16 development studios. The company sees itself as a publisher of AA-grade video games and producer of video game accessories. Nacon employs more than 1,000 people. Its studios include Daedalic Entertainment, Cyanide Studio, Eko Software, Kylotonn, Spiders, Ishtar Games, Midgar Studio, Big Ant Studios, Crea-ture Studios, Neopica, RaceWard Studio, and Nacon Studio Milan.
