Fünf Entwicklerteams sind für den Ubisoft Newcomer Award 2020 nominiert, der während der Online-Veranstaltung zum Deutschen Entwicklerpreis 2020 am 10. Dezember verliehen wird.

Beim Deutschen Entwicklerpreis dieses Jahr am 10. Dezember sponsort Ubisoft den Newcomer Award bereits zum achten Mal und die fünf Nominierten dafür stehen nun fest:

Toukana Interactive UG mit "Dorfromantik" Studio Sterneck mit "Get Together" Firewood Games (vom Cologne Game Lab) mit "Local Paper Small Town" 4AM-Games (ebenfalls vom Cologne Game Lab) mit "The Bestowed City" Springpeople Productions (von der FH Salzburg) mit "Whalien".

Mit dem Gewinn des Awards einher geht, dass Ubisoft-Entwickler einen Mentoring-Workshop für die Sieger ausrichten und die weitere Entwicklung des preisgekrönten Projekts begleiten. Außerdem erhält das Team einen Platz in der Indie Arena Booth 2021. Der Award ist Teil der Ubisoft-Entrepreneurs-Initiative, mit der das Unternehmen Start-Ups unterstützt.
