First 50 devcom 2024 Speakers Announced
The first 50 speakers at the devcom 2024 are revealed. Interest in the conference is also growing, with the organisers receiving 50 per cent more speaker submissions than last year. The topics of the submissions have also changed. Production-focused talks have increased, AI remains at last year's level, while crypto has decreased significantly.
The devcom Developer Conference (#ddc2024) reveals the first sessions, speakers and the on-site programme. Taking place at Confex in Cologne from 18 to 20 August 2024, the conference will be a hybrid experience, with all sessions, exhibitions, attendee profiles and matchmaking options also available online via the Digital Pass.
Speaker and session submissions for #ddc2024 are up by more than 50 per cent compared to this time last year. The devcom team has also seen a shift in the topics being submitted, with a notable increase in production-focused talks. AI-related submissions have remained consistent with last year, while crypto-related submissions have decreased significantly.
The conference will kick off with the Opening Keynote by Game Writer and Narrative Designer Kelsey Beachum, best known for their work on Outer Wilds. Fleur Marty, Executive Producer at Fang & Claw, will give advice on how producers can successfully close a project and motivate their team in her session "The Art of Closing". Vladimir Lopatin, Senior Technical Artist at Guerrilla Games, will present a method for capturing physical wave simulation data with a set of approximation curves that can cope with overhangs, changing topology and strict budget requirements in large open-world games. In her talk "Building and Growing a Cross-Project Department through the Power of Technical Production", Lucie Prunier, Producer at Don't Nod, will explain how cross-project technical departments can help optimize workflows in game development.

The devcom Developer Conference (#ddc2024) will take place from 18 to 20 August (Sunday to Tuesday) at Confex at the Koelnmesse exhibition centre in Cologne, followed by a presence at gamescom from 21 to 23 August. devcom and all branded formats are developed and organized by game events GmbH, a subsidiary of game - the German Games Industry Association.
