Deck13 Spotlight and Wobble Ghost have released Spindle for PC and Switch. This old-school action-adventure game explores the many ways we deal with death. And yes, there is a pig companion.

In July 2021, Deck13 Spotlight and Wobble Ghost announced the action-adventure game Spindle, which is being released today for PC and Switch at a price of €19.99. "Serious question. What happens if no one can die anymore? Without spoiling too much: The world cannot handle that, and only Dengel, a grim reaper guiding souls of loved ones to rest, can figure out what's going on. Well, there’s also a pig, and before you even ask, the answer is great big oinking yes. Yes, you CAN play that pig," wrote the Frankfurt-based indie publisher.

Spindle is an old-school action-adventure game in the style of classics such as Phantom Hourglass. It puts players in a hand-crafted pixel world of dungeons and puzzles. Players must use the powers of Death and the pig companion to outwit the creatures and obstacles in their path. Deck13: "In this indie adventure, grief is more than a theme - it's the heart of the journey. Shaped by community feedback and collaboration, the original concept evolved into a game that explores the many ways people cope with loss."

The game is being developed by Wobble Ghost, a three-person indie team based in Berlin (Tom, Kim, and Felix). Their journey began in 2018. Deck13 Spotlight is the indie publishing (service) arm of Deck13 Interactive, that helps independent developers bring their projects to wider audiences like Chained Echoed, Rising Lords, Highrise City and most recently Drova - Forsaken Kin.
