Horizon Edge and Assemble Entertainment have released Decktamer for PC, priced at €15.99. This roguelike creature deck-builder is different from other games of its kind because the deck isn't made of spells or relics — it's made of monsters that players have tamed in battle. Each monster is a friend, a weapon and a liability. If they die, they're gone forever.

Axel Rueda, co-founder of Horizon Edge, said: "We asked ourselves: What if cards weren't just effects, but allies with real consequences? Decktamer is our answer to that. We wanted to create a personalised deck-building experience where players take responsibility, take risks, and bond with their creatures. Every card has a story, and every defeat is final."

The launch of Decktamer was a great success for Assemble Entertainment. The game launched on Steam with 1,874 concurrent players, the third-highest figure for the publisher to date. However, Asgard's Fall - Viking Survivors, which was released on Early Access in April 2025, recorded a slightly higher concurrent user (CCU) peak of 1,874. Nevertheless, it is still possible that Decktamer will surpass Asgard's Fall's CCU peak. Nevertheless, the publisher's most successful game remains Endzone - A World Apart (2021), which peaked at 6,426 concurrent players. Its successor, Endzone 2, was unable to build on this success.

Horizon Edge is a small independent game studio based in Toulouse, France. It was founded by developers Axel and Ahmed. Decktamer is their most ambitious project to date. Assemble Entertainment is an independent game publisher based in Wiesbaden, Germany. Founded in 2016 by industry veteran Stefan Marcinek, Assemble is known for indie games such as Sticky Business, Roadwarden, Lacuna, and Asgard's Fall. Assemble also organises GermanDevDays, one of Germany's largest developer conferences.
