All eyes in the German gaming industry will be on Berlin tonight, where the Deutscher Computerspielpreis 2025 (DCP; German Computer Game Award) will be presented at a grand gala. Here's an overview of this important event for the industry.

The Deutscher Computerspielpreis (DCP; German Computer Game Award) will be presented in Berlin today during a major ceremony at the Palais am Funkturm. Among those expected to attend are personalities from the worlds of gaming, culture, media and politics, including Dorothee Bär, the recently appointed Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space. She will give a laudatory speech. The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, will also be among those presenting the awards. Other guests in attendance will include streamer Jasmin Sibel (Gnu), cosplay artist Leslie ‘Farbenfuchs’, Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli, comedian Kaya Yanar, and presenter Ruth Moschner.

The awards ceremony begins at 18:00 and will be streamed live on several platforms (DCP YouTube channel, game Twitch channel, DCP website). The award is organised by the German government and game - the German Games Industry Association. Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg is sponsoring this year's awards.

The teams behind the best games made in Germany will be celebrated at the show, hosted by Katrin Bauerfeind and Uke Bosse. The DCP is awarded in 15 categories with a total of €800,000 in prize money. With three nominations, Keen Games' Enshrouded leads the field, competing in the categories Audio Design and Innovation and Technology, as well as in the main category Best German Game. In the latter, it faces competition from Thronefall by Grizzly Games and Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders by Megagon Industries. Additionally, Thronefall is nominated for Best Game Design, while Megagon Industries is one of three contenders for Best Studio. Aesir Interactive and Gentle Troll Entertainment are also in the running for the 'Studio of the Year' award.
