Berlin-based studio ByteRockers' Games is providing publishing support to indie studios Spaceflower (Let Them Trade) and Sparrow Games (Tile Rush). CEO Maik Reichelt is keen to support small titles that might otherwise struggle.

ByteRockers' Games from Berlin is now supporting small development studios in the publishing sector. CEO Maik Reichelt tells GamesMarkt: "Since this year we have been acting as a publisher for smaller titles that would otherwise have a hard time getting support, especially in terms of development budget and advice or direct support in development. A lot of publishers tend to stay out of it or make demands that are difficult to meet. In this respect, it helps the teams that we ourselves have the "developer's perspective". In addition, ByteRockers' Games hopes that this diversification will minimise risk and maximise opportunity. Reichelt is also open to other publishers and partnerships. "However, we are looking for experienced publishers for all games, for example as distribution partners, who have stronger networks than we currently have."

Let Them Trade by Spaceflower from Nuremberg is the first title published by ByteRockers' Games. This is a peaceful city-building and resource management game set in a wooden board game world. "The player must carefully balance supply and demand and levy taxes to influence the economy in real time." The second title is the competitive online multiplayer puzzle game Tile Rush from Sparrow Games in Berlin. "Let Them Trade is actually the first game where we saw this opportunity and are now realising it. Tile Rush, the second title with which we are trying this, is, however, a predestined mobile game that we have launched with confidence, but also with the knowledge that we needed an experienced mobile publisher as a distribution partner," Reichelt says.

Maik Reichelt also makes it clear that their publishing capacity is limited and that they are still looking for strong publishing partners for their own games - as well as those of their partners. "Despite everything, we are still looking for publishers, especially for our own productions, because these games have a larger volume and therefore a higher risk, which we would like to minimise with a strong partner."

ByteRockers' Games will be showing Let Them Trade, in-house production Solnox - Grimoire of Seasons and an unannounced game that will be shown to the public for the first time at gamescom 2024 at the Home of Indies stand in Hall 10.2.
