Electronic Arts hat die Fortsetzungen ihrer Fußballsimulationen angekündigt. So erscheinen in diesem Jahr "Bundesliga Stars 2001" und "FIFA 2001".

Pünktlich zur Europameisterschaft kündigt Electronic Arts die neuen Titel in der EA Sports-Fußballreihe an. Zum Bundesligastart im August wird voraussichtlich "Bundesliga Stars 2001" für PC und PlayStation, im November dieses Jahres "FIFA 2001" in den Handel kommen. Für die Fortsetzung der Fußballsimulation "FIFA 2001" konnte EA den Rekordnationalspieler und Wahl-Amerikaner Lothar Matthäus gewinnen. Matthäus wird als Cyberfigur seinen Auftritt in den jeweiligen Spielversionen für PC, PlayStation und PlayStation2 haben.
