Today, Digitalmindsoft and THQ Nordic will release the tactical World War II simulation Call to Arms: Panzer Elite on Steam Early Access. The game is scheduled for release nine months after the start of Early Access.

Call to Arms: Panzer Elite will be released on Steam for PC in Early Access today at 17:00. This realistic combat simulation, developed by Ulm-based Digitalmindsoft and Austrian publisher THQ Nordic, is based on historical events. Players can command up to five tanks in real time, seamlessly switching between vehicles and coordinating with AI companions or other players in co-op mode. Developed with Unreal Engine 5, the game features destructible environments that are relevant to tactics. There is a strong focus on detail in terms of tank physics, ballistics and combat damage. THQ Nordic emphasises that there will be no microtransactions or shortcuts. Players can choose the Standard Edition (€29.99). Upgrading to the Deluxe Edition adds extra skirmish maps for multiplayer or solo play, along with cosmetic skins for three vehicles. This will be available for €19.99.

Call to Arms: Panzer Elite's Early Access begins with the first chapter of the campaign, set in France. The game includes three campaign missions that can be played in co-op mode, as well as two additional non-story missions and three skirmish maps. During the Early Access period, Digitalmind Software will release regular updates, including extra campaign missions, additional tanks and armoured vehicles, and more PvP content and features for players. The full version is expected to comprise nine campaign missions, three non-story missions and nine skirmish maps in total. It is estimated that Early Access will last around nine months.

Development of the game is being supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, based on a decision by the German Bundestag. The studio received €599,362 from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) between 1 December 2021 and 31 March 2023.
