Daedalic and Tiny Roar Launched Into the Emberlands
The two Hamburg-based companies, Daedalic Entertainment and Tiny Roar, have sent Into the Emberlands into Early Access. It's a cosy exploration game with a roguelite twist, all about rebuilding the home of the Knacks.
Daedalic Entertainment and developer Tiny Roar have released Into the Emberlands in Early Access on Steam for 6,59 Euros with an optional Supporter Pack. The game evolved from Tiny Roar's previous project, Wanderful. Thanks to an open and iterative development approach, the game has evolved far from the original concept. It is a cozy exploration game about building a safe haven in a world threatened by darkness.
"Right now we aim for an Early Access period of 6-9 months. (...) The core features of Into the Emberlands are already in place, but we plan on improving the game together with the community and expand the game with additional biomes, upgrades and encounters," the two companies from Hamburg write on Steam.
The Emberlands are home to the peaceful Knacks, but the world has been engulfed by the mysterious Miasma, plunging everything into darkness. Daedalic Entertainment: "As the chosen Lightbearer, you’re equipped with a lantern filled with radiant Ember. With its light you can cut through the thick shroud, allowing you to venture out across different biomes and save those that strayed from the path and became lost in the darkness. In this cozy exploration game with a rogue-lite twist, you have a clear mission: Rescue the Knacks that lost their way out in the wilds and lead them back to safety. Collect a wide assortment of resources to rebuild and expand the village, and transform it into a safe haven for the Knacks! But be aware: If your lantern’s light fades while you’re out in the wild, you will become a lost one yourself, and the next Lightbearer will need to step into your shoes ..."
Tiny Roar is also developing Lou's Lagoon, which is distributed by rokaplay. While many other games companies are cutting jobs, Tiny Roar from Hamburg is still hiring. GamesMarkt recently interviewed Managing Director Maurice Hagelstein (GM Plus). He talked about the Aonic Group as a major shareholder, Germany as a games location, the latest release and what the future holds.
