The Gamevasion powered by DreamHack gaming festival in Hannover will feature a Sci-Fi Zone for Star Wars fans, a cosplay contest and an expansion of trading card game activities.

Freaks 4U Gaming, owner and operator of Gamevasion powered by DreamHack, reveals the first look at this year's gaming festival, including the Sci-Fi Zone, Cosplay Contest and Tabletop Area. After 1,300 participants in last year's Trading Card Game tournament, Gamevasion is expanding its tabletop programme. The newly created Magic: The Gathering Commander Play Area will accommodate up to 800 players, while the Magic: The Gathering Content Creator Area will feature daily livestreams and on-site guest creators. Also for the first time, Gamevasion will introduce LARP to its visitors by hosting popular LARP communities. Wizards of the Cost, the publishers of Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, will have a booth for community interaction, while Amigo, one of Germany's most successful publishers of board and card games, will showcase games and engage with the community at their booth.

One of the main attractions at Gamevasion will be the Sci-Fi Zone, featuring 1,200 square metres of Star Wars movie sets, prop replicas and live acts in collaboration with the 501st Legion and Project X. The Cosplay Contest returns with a €5,000 prize pool. This year's award categories include Best Overall Cosplay, Best Prop, Newcomer Award (for finalists with less than three years of experience), Best Show Performance and Judget's Favourite. There will also be a Cosplay Village for meet and greets.

The LAN Area will offer attendees both BYOC and rental options, while hosting community tournaments for League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, Fortnite and Apex Legends, with a combined prize pool of nearly €10,000. The Artist Alley will return to showcase and support independent and local artists. Last but not least, the Community Area will feature free-to-play PC, console and retro games.

The LAN event will take place from 5 to 8 December and the Expo from 6 to 8 December in Hannover.
