The Epic Games Store (EGS) surpassed the billion-dollar revenue mark again in 2025. A total of $1.16 billion was generated, representing a 6% increase on the previous year (2024: $1.09 billion; 2023: $950 million). The number of PC customers increased from 295 million to 317 million, bringing the total number of cross-platform Epic accounts to nearly 972 million. Third-party game spending fell in 2024 but increased by 57% in 2025 to reach $400 million (compared to $250 million in 2024 and $310 million in 2023). This is an all-time record. This is also reflected in the number of hours of gameplay. A total of 6.65 billion hours of gameplay were recorded on the Epic Games Store (-14%), of which 2.78 billion hours were spent playing third-party games (+4%). This demonstrates that Epic Games' own titles (Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys) continue to generate revenue on the platform. These figures reflect actual customer spending and do not include the value of coupons, Epic Funding or other promotions.
Epic Games: "Because developers who process their own in-game payments keep 100% of their revenue, this record spending doesn't even include some of the biggest live service titles like Marvel Rivals, Valorant, and GTA V, as well as premium titles like EA Sports FC 26. Another all-time Epic Games Store record: Players spent 2.78 billion hours in third-party games. 35% of those player hours were in third-party games where developers used their own payment solutions for in-app purchases. "
In December 2025, the Epic Games Store reached a record-breaking 78 million monthly active users (MAU) on PC. The average number of MAU in 2025 was 67 million (-1%), and the average number of daily active users (DAU) was 31 million (-2%).
The Free Games Programme continued to encourage discovery and engagement. In 2025, players claimed 662 million titles through the programme, equating to an average value of $2,316 per player. "Over 77% of games set an all-time peak CCU record on the Store during the week of their free offer," Epic states. "This delivered a measurable halo effect across the broader PC ecosystem, including a 40% lift in Steam CCU while the title was free on the Epic Games Store."
The Epic Games Store catalog now includes more than 6,000 games. Epic: "We reworked our revenue share model so developers can keep more of their revenue and reinvest directly in their studios and projects. Started in June 2025, developers keep 100% of their first $1 million in annual net revenue per product, per year, before the standard 88/12 split applies." The company also launched Epic Web Shops, which enable developers to build their own digital storefronts within the Epic ecosystem on PC and mobile. The Epic Games App was also introduced, providing a mobile companion experience. It debuted on iOS in December before expanding to Android in January.
Epic Games is rebuilding the underlying architecture of the Epic Games Store Launcher, with improvements planned for release this summer, including greater responsiveness, faster load times and greater stability. In order to create a better social experience, they will be creating community spaces within the Epic Games Store, as well as enhancing the cross-platform text chat feature with the addition of avatars, player profiles and private messaging. Epic Games: "In Q2, we will add voice chat and game-independent parties to our social framework. We're also launching an official program to help developers sell more games on the Epic Games Store by leveraging the marketing power of Fortnite. Players who purchase participating games will get a Fortnite cosmetic along with a matching character avatar for their Epic account profile. This will be available in the first half of the year. Upcoming partners include Capcom, miHoYo, Pearl Abyss, S-Game, MintRocket, and Kakao Games, as the first to participate." They want to add a cross-platform library for PC and mobile players in the autumn, and introduce regional storefronts with localised discovery. On mobile, Epic plans to launch library management in Q2. "We also plan to launch third-party APIs and expand our Self-Publishing Tools to our mobile partners this summer."
