FIFA Is Committed to Football Esports With eFootball and Rocket League

FIFA is continuing its commitment to esports football with multi-year agreements within its FIFAe ecosystem. The FIFAe Finals, featuring Rocket League and eFootball, have been confirmed in partnership with the Saudi Esports Federation for 2025 and 2026.
FIFAe, FIFA's digital football, games and esports platform, has confirmed the dates of the FIFAe Finals for 2025 and 2026. The event will feature the FIFAe World Cups for Rocket League (Epic Games) and eFootball (Konami), crowning three world champions in their respective fields on the global stage. The FIFAe Finals 2025 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 10 to 19 December.
"The fan feedback after last year's event was incredible and confirmed our vision to provide a home for football esports to a range of different communities. Onboarding free-to-play titles and confirming the event for two seasons are significant steps on our journey to facilitate accessibility for nations and players from around the world," said Christian Volk, Director of eFootball & Gaming at FIFA. "The extension of our partnerships highlights the shared ambitions of everyone involved and allows us to sustainably develop the competition structure even further in order to offer fans and players the best possible experience."
"Hosting the FIFAe Finals through 2026 stands as a testament to our commitment to supporting and delivering world-class esports events at both the regional and global levels. Our focus remains on creating an exceptional experience for players and fans alike, enable them to compete and engage in a platform that celebrates their passion and showcases their talent. This milestone further reinforces our Kingdom’s position as a global hub and leader in the gaming and esports industry, and we are looking forward to welcoming the world once again to the SEF Arena in Riyadh this December," said Meshal Alqabbani, Products Executive Director at Saudi Esports Federation (SEF).
The 2024 FIFA eWorld Cup, featuring eFootball on mobile devices and consoles, took place last December. In the run-up to the event, more than 14 million players from all over the world took part online. Sixteen nations were represented in the mobile edition, while 18 nations took part in the console edition. The final rounds were streamed online worldwide. The console version reached a maximum of over 400,000 simultaneous viewers across all channels, including the official FIFAe YouTube channel - the highest number ever recorded for an eFootball eSports event.
Building on the success of the 2024 FIFAe Finals, FIFA is set to continue engaging the next generation of football fans worldwide through its esports initiatives. To mark this ongoing journey, the FIFAe brand is being given a refresh.
Sixteen national teams will compete in the FIFAe World Cup featuring Rocket League, while 12 national teams will compete in each of the FIFAe World Cups featuring eFootball competitions on mobile and consoles. Players can register on FIFA.GG (eFootball) to find out more and keep up to date with their respective member association's participation.
