The esports player foundation (epf) is undergoing a strategic realignment. From April 2025, Julius Althoff will take over the management of the esports player foundation from Jörg Adami, who will continue to support the non-profit organisation he founded in an advisory capacity.

The esports player foundation (epf), the world's only talent development programme in esports (according to the epf), is changing its management. Managing Director Jörg Adami will take on the role of Chairman of the Advisory Board and will continue to provide strategic advice to the non-profit organisation. Julius Althoff, who has taken on increasing responsibility in the organisation over the past two years, will become the new Managing Director in April. The reorganisation is designed to further advance both the promotion of esports talent and the long-term development of the Foundation.

Felix Falk, Managing Director of game - the German Games Industry Association and shareholder in epf: "Jörg Adami has done an incredible job as the founding Managing Director of epf! His idea has grown into an institution that is second to none in the world. Only five years after its foundation, the epf has become an indispensable part of the ecosystem, enabling numerous careers and building new bridges to important partners. For this, he deserves our sincere thanks on behalf of the advisory board and the entire German games industry. After these dynamic start-up years, the epf is now opening the next chapter. With Julius Althoff, the epf has a Managing Director who has already impressed with his expertise and enthusiasm. He and his team will be supported by the advisory board and its new chairman, Jörg Adami, who will remain closely associated with the epf."

Jörg Adami, the new Chairman of the epf Advisory Board: "Our goal is to further develop the epf as a leading institution in the promotion of esports talent. The extent to which the esports environment has changed since our inception is evident, not least from the Olympic Esports Games. This realignment will allow us to embrace these changes, become even stronger as a team, and achieve even more in the future."

"I am grateful for the trust placed in me," said Julius Althoff, the new Managing Director of epf. "I look forward to working with our great team and strong partners to create new perspectives that will best support future generations of esports athletes on their journey. This further development of the epf consolidates its central role for young talent and the professional sector, a role that extends far beyond the scene into politics, business and society."

The esports player foundation brings the know-how of traditional sports promotion to esports. It supports young and established talents by professionalising training, providing financial support and comprehensive advice on legal and health issues. Furthermore, the foundation supports its members in securing a successful professional life after their esports career. The esports player foundation is funded by the government of North Rhine-Westphalia and business partners such as Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Kreditbank, Deutsche Telekom, Techniker Krankenkasse and others.
