GG Bavaria 2025, which takes place on 29 and 30 March in Munich's Kleine Olympiahalle, celebrates digital gaming culture, indie games from over 30 studios, cosplay and nerd culture. The event also aims to raise awareness of career opportunities in the games industry.

GG Bavaria sees itself as a hotspot for Bavarian indie games. This year's line-up is packed with games including Chromagun 2: Dye Hard from Pixel Maniacs and PM Studios, Waters of Sal Naména from Distant Meadows and TimeLab from VR-Dynamix. Other indie highlights include Inspector Schmidt - The Ebbing from Active Fungus Studios, Tavern Talk from Gentle Troll Entertainment and The Murder Hotel from Wegenbartho Games. Aesir Interactive and Giants Software are also taking part. In total, more than 30 studios will be represented at the convention this year (overview).

A stage programme is also planned to entertain visitors, with creator Huebi inviting people to take the GG Bavaria IQ test on Saturday. Also on Saturday, there will be a round of pen-and-paper gaming on stage, moderated by Melanie Ratjen from the Munich City Library - with creators Gaius, ArtemizPlayz and Rhenya playing. The Overcooked 2v2 tournament hosted by Munich eSports e.V. and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament final hosted by Vivid Arise eSports e.V. will be more competitive. On Sunday, the GG Bavaria Indie Award will make its debut, with prizes being awarded in three categories: The Horizon Award for creative technical approaches, the Vision Award for games with a special aesthetic and atmosphere, and the Cosmic Choice audience award, presented by Minister of State Dr Fabian Mehring, for which visitors can vote on site. Cosplayers have the opportunity to sign up for the Cosplay Catwalk at the Animexx stand to show off their best cosplay.

The Career Space, which takes place on both days and is free of charge for visitors, is where various universities present their courses in the games industry, there are hands-on workshops and expert Q&As. For example, visitors can find out about different career paths in the industry at panels with Prof. Dr. Dr. Rudolf Thomas Inderst from the Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences, or discuss topics such as mental health in the games industry at a round table with Robin Hartmann, Senior PR & Partnership Manager, game events GmbH.

GG Bavaria will take place on 28 March from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Business Day) in the business area of the Olympiahalle and on 29 March from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on 30 March from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Convention) in the Kleine Olympiahalle in Munich (tickets).

The third GG Bavaria will take place in an even larger location and will offer a business day for the first time. In the interview, Robin Rottmann explains how and why the concept has been further developed and invites everyone to participate in the future development with ideas and feedback.
