On November 20, the Fachhochschule Salzburg - University of Applied Sciences hosted the Homecoming Startups 2024 event, a celebration of multimedia and gaming innovation. Alongside a keynote speech, engaging lectures, and panel discussions, attendees also had the chance to explore a variety of games in the foyer.

The keynote address was delivered by Barbara Lippe, co-founder of Holodeck VR and an alumna of FH Salzburg. Lippe took the audience on a captivating journey through her experiences in the gaming industry. Following the keynote, several Salzburg-based startups showcased their work, highlighting the region’s growing prominence in the gaming sector.

The panel discussion, Salzburg Gaming Reloaded, addressed ways to further enhance Salzburg’s position as a gaming hub. Panelists included Reane Leuning, Head of Creative Industries at the Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (Austrian Federal Economic Chamber), alongside Christian Baumgartner and Martin Filipp of Mi'pu'mi Games, with Filipp also serving as Chairman of the PGDA (Pioneers of Game Development Austria).
