Since MediaMarktSaturn and Lieferando have been testing the delivery of electronic goods in Berlin since May, the cooperation has now been expanded to include delivery of almost 1,000 products including games and consoles from the stores. The model is also to be extended to other cities.

Order a game along with your pizza delivery? In Berlin, you can now do just that with Lieferando. The service, which started out as an online marketplace for ordering food, and MediaMarktSaturn are expanding their existing partnership. In May, the two companies launched a pilot project in which a small range of around 100 small electrical items could be ordered via the delivery service in Berlin and delivered to customers in less than an hour. There were no games on offer at the time.

But the test was apparently successful, and the ordering and delivery options are now being massively expanded. In future, Lieferando will also deliver directly from the four MediaMarkt stores in Berlin-Mitte (Alexa), Berlin-Prenzlauer-Berg, Berlin-Neukölln and Berlin-Steglitz as well as from Saturn in the Europa-Center. At the same time, the range of products on offer will increase tenfold to around 1000 items.

According to Lieferando, the range includes smartphones and computers, audio and TV equipment, gadgets such as tablets or e-readers, children's toys, household electronics and personal care products such as shavers or electric toothbrushes. The gaming and entertainment sector is also included. This includes game consoles, controllers, hit games or gaming headsets and mice.

Prices will be based on market prices, but a service fee of €0.99 will be charged. Delivery will be free of charge in neighbouring districts. Longer distances will be charged between €1.49 and €4.99. Delivery itself takes between 40 and 60 minutes.

In addition to the expansion in Berlin, Lieferando and MediaMarktSaturn have announced the expansion of the cooperation to other cities and regions. Delivery in Leipzig and Dresden will start in the coming weeks. Other cities are in the planning stage.
