Wegesrand and Austrian edtech company Ovos have signed a cooperation agreement. Under the agreement, Wegesrand will license the ovos tool, providing a standardised tool for the production of customised solutions and content.

Wegesrand, which is based in Mönchengladbach, is continuing its expansion in the GSA region and has entered into a strategic sales partnership with ovos media, based in Austria. Both companies focus on interactive knowledge transfer. Ovos has been providing playful learning content for 20 years. Wegesrand develops solutions for training development, serious games and gamification in education, training and public spaces such as museums and exhibitions. The two partners have been working together successfully for several years, including the TheaDiPolis research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wegesrand will license the ovos tool, providing a standardised tool for the production of customised solutions and content. The plan is to combine more complex media tools from Wegesrand with "ovos play". This will create a new sales channel for ovos and an opportunity for Wegesrand to expand its product range with standardised content production. As part of the cooperation with Wegesrand, Ovos intends to realise more complex media productions, such as serious games or installations in museum spaces. Wegesrand strengthens its presence in Austria and adds another player to its distribution partnerships in this segment.

"We share a similar mindset with ovos. Our products and services complement each other very well, and we are convinced that we have gained a very exciting partner to expand our range of products and our sales reach," says Paul Lanzendorf, Head of Education at Wegesrand. "Ovos and Wegesrand are united in their thinking and quality standards, but complementary in their offerings. With Wegesrand, we are gaining one of the most established providers of playful learning solutions as a partner and thus benefit in many ways," says Jörg Hofstätter, Managing Director of ovos, explaining the cooperation.

Wegesrand recently took its first step into the Swiss market. Since January 2024, Wegesrand CEO Thorsten Unger has been supporting the team at Swiss company MYI Entertainment, an agency for esports and gaming in the GSA, as a member of the advisory board.
