The Sparkasse (Saving banks) are stepping up their involvement in gaming. Following collaborations in esports and with creators such as HandsOfBlood, they are now launching their first Fortnite game – with known partners.

Sparkasse is working with the creative agency Jung von Matt Sports to implement the game. Beyond Creative is responsible for development. For Sparkasse, the game on Fortnite as a platform is a logical next step in its commitment to gaming. Sparkasse has been involved in esports and the Baller League at Eintracht Spandau for some time and cooperates with content creator Maximilian Knabe, known as HandOfBlood or President Knabe of Eintracht Spandau. Eintracht Spandau is a joint venture between Knabe's agency Instinct3 and Jung von Matt Nerd, a sister agency of JvM Sports.

"If you want to reach young people today, you have to understand their culture – and help shape it. That's exactly why we have worked closely with the gaming community from the very beginning. 'Schwein gehabt' is not a marketing stunt, but a contemporary experience that takes gaming seriously – in terms of attitude, quality and storytelling," says Janine Schumann, Head of Campaign Management in the Newsroom of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe.

The fact that the game was developed from existing partnerships is also evident in the accompanying campaign. Sparkasse is collaborating with well-known creators, including HandOfBlood, of course, but also Gnu, Fibii, Mahluna and Sev. Interestingly, Sparkasse will also be featuring the Fortnite game nationwide in its own branches with giveaways, cardboard displays and other products.
