Almost 2.4 million euros from the German government's computer games funding programme are going to Sky-E Red, K5 Factory and Frodo Games. While K5 Factory will get around one million euros for its VR Oktoberfest game, Sky-E Red Games will receive 1.32 million euros for the development of a monster-hunting game.

Three more games projects get funding from the federal government's computer games funding programme. 1,317,855 euros will go to Sky-E Red. The company from Rüsselsheim in the state of Hesse is working on "Battle Frontier". The start-up's first game is described as a monster-hunting experience: "Battle Frontier is a fresh and varied monster hunting experience with a twist. Challenge, rescue and train countless mysterious BattleBeasts - and learn to merge with them. Master their powers to gain an advantage in the numerous online multiplayer competitions. Compete against the greatest fighters in the universe to earn the title of Battle Frontier Champion. Visit new worlds online to prove your skills against opponents from all over the galaxy. Make new friends and trade powerful, rare or stylish BattleBeasts with them." The company Sky-E Red consists of the games start-up and the IT consulting firm Sky-E Red Technology, which focuses on cloud computing.

1,023,833 euros will be awarded to K5 Factory from Munich for "Das Oktoberfest Spiel". The social VR title is a collection of mini-games and aims for a multiplayer experience. Frodo Games from Lübeck is pleased to receive 52,248 euros for "Play & Donate - play to collect donations." More details about the projects should become known in the coming months.

These three funding applications were received by the Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Action before the application freeze for federal funding. New funding applications cannot be submitted at this time due to the application stop.
