From December 1-4, 2025, at Workshop 17 in Cape Town,the eighth Africa Games Week takes place under the motto ‘Shining a Spotlight on the African Gaming Industry’.

“This year's event is set to be a major catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and building a sustainable future for African gaming through cutting-edge strategies, alternative funding models, and pioneering development pipelines”, the organisers say.

Key Program Highlights include the first instance of the Africa Games Week Awards on the final day of the event, the kick-off for the six week Xbox Games Camp Africa Program in partnership with ID@Xbox, the Goethe-Institut GamesConnect AFRICA Retrospective Panel, a Publisher Pro Workshop by SpielFabrique and more. 

Importantly, submissions for the inaugural award ceremony are now open. Developers from the African continent can submit their game for the three categories African Game of the Year, Social Impact Award and Audience Choice Award.
