The first game from Streumon since they parted ways with Pullup Entertainment in 2024 is Daimon Blades, which the French studio is also publishing itself. The game is a first-person slasher with roguelike progression.

Daimon Blades can be played solo (offline) or with a group of up to four players in online co-op mode. Players take on the role of the Secreta, warriors sworn to contain the rising tide of daimonic incursions. They must face abominations while descending deeper and deeper into the Daimon realm. This game takes place two millennia before the events of E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, the first game from Streumon.

The standout feature are the living Daimon weapons, which empower and/or corrupt the player because they are inhabited by a Daimon with a unique set of abilities and attributes. During runs (Expeditions), the weapon feeds on the blood of enemies and ascends, unlocking more power and abilities. Players will also encounter obelisks during these runs that allow them to add new abilities to their weapon, replacing or levelling up existing ones.  If players are killed, the Daimon resurrects them during the run, but at the cost of corruption. As corruption rises, the Daimon will curse the player by applying random malices that will deteriorate their power. Once 100 corruption has been reached, the run is over. Players will be pulled back to the temple, losing part of their loot in the process. The weapon's raw power can also be permanently increased between runs, enabling players to survive longer.

Although the gameplay and progression revolves around weapons, character progression is important too. Players can spend Celestial Stones looted during runs to permanently level up their character. Each point invested will improve the base stats. There is also a second game mode called Exploration that acts as an endgame activity. In this mode, players are challenged to venture as far into the daimon realm as possible, looting resources and searching for stronger weapons.

Overall, the game impresses with its intense and precise melee combat system. This features melee and ranged attacks, dashing to evade, blocking, and powerful counter-attacks, all of which can be performed while moving quickly through the levels.  Additionally, there are no predefined classes, enabling players to choose their preferred play style. RPG customisation, loot, resources and crafting give the game high replay value. There are currently nine randomly generated biomes, over 20 enemy types and four boss encounters. However, the game still has some technical issues to resolve, particularly with regard to the user interface, which could be neater and more intuitive. The introduction to the game is rather rushed, too.

The game is the work of the French studio Streumon. Emerging from the modding scene of the early 2000s (Half-Life 1: Syndicate Black Ops), the studio was founded in 2007 and began developing E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy. This cyberpunk RPG shooter was released in 2011 and became a million-seller. Subsequently, the company partnered with Games Workshop and Focus Home Interactive to release Space Hulk: Deathwing. In April 2021, the studio was acquired by Focus Home Interactive, becoming its second in-house game development studio after Deck13 Interactive. Next came Necromunda: Hired Gun launched in June 2021. In 2024, Streumon Studio bought back its shares and became an independent studio again. "This renewed independence reflects the team’s deep commitment to creative control and quality," said Streumon. Daimon Blades is the first game they are publishing themselves.

Daimon Blades was released on 6 October 2025 in Early Access on PC for €34.99. Players who purchase the game during the Early Access period will receive the Secreta Secretorum bundle. This bundle includes weapon and armour skins that pay homage to E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy. It also includes a digital artbook in PDF format and an original soundtrack in MP3 and lossless formats (which will be released later). While the artbook and soundtrack will be available to purchase once the game is released as version 1.0, the skins will only be available during the Early Access period.

Depending on user feedback, version 1.0 is expected to be released around summer 2026. Until then, the game will be updated with new features, game modes, and more content (enemies, bosses, weapons, abilities, artefacts, alchemy powers, etc.), as well as balancing and optimisation, based on user feedback.

Conclusion

Streumon has created a fast-paced, engaging first-person slasher with Daimon Blades, which has the potential to become even bigger, better and more approachable in Early Access thanks to its great weapon progression system. However, the multiplayer mode is still in beta and quite unstable at the moment.

Features
  • Fast-paced and gripping first-person slasher, also playable in online co-op
  • Multi-layered roguelike progression
  • High replay value
