Journalist, Moderator, ehemaliger WDR-Intendant

Bereits 1963 startete Friedrich Nowottny seine Fernsehkarriere als Journalist beim Saarländischen Rundfunk. Dem breiten Publikum ist er aber als launiger Moderator des "Bericht aus Bonn" unvergessen, den Nowottny zwischen 1973 und 1985 als ARD-Chefkorrespondent und Leiter des Bonner WDR-Studios präsentierte.

1985 wurde Nowottny Intendant des WDR und blieb bis 1995 in dieser Funktion. 1991/92 übernahm er turnusgemäß auch den ARD-Vorsitz.
