An influencer marketing tool for creating, optimising and analysing campaigns for games has received funding from the EU's Media programme for innovative tools and business models. It is being developed by Benjamin Lochmann New Media, the company behind Pixelmaniacs.

In this year's call for proposals for "Innovative tools and business models", a total of eight million euros has been approved for ten projects through the EU's Creative Europe programme. 4.8 million of this will go to Germany. And unlike in previous years, it is not only companies from the film industry that benefit from the funding.

For example, &why GmbH (Munich/Berlin) will receive 440,112 euros for "Living Stories", a project to develop innovative tools for non-linear storytelling. One of the favoured projects is "Contacts Tool" by Benjamin Lochmann New Media, which will receive almost €640,000. This is an influencer marketing tool for video game campaigns. It focuses on YouTube, Twitch and other social media, but can also be used for traditional media such as magazines, TV shows or radio broadcasts.

"Thanks to Media's support, the company is currently focusing on further expansion within the European games industry, in addition to developing new product features," says Managing Director Benjamin Lochmann, "in the future, expansion into other marketing-intensive industries is conceivable." In the games industry, Benjamin Lochmann New Media is best known for the Pixelmaniacs brand, which produced games such as ChromaGun and Escape the Loop. Benjamin Lochmann is also involved in the IndieOutpost initiative for the game development scene in Franconia.
