Although some of the most important publishers and studios are based in Hesse, funding for games remains comparatively limited. On February 6, the HA Hessen Agentur will host an information event to present existing funding programs and facilitate networking opportunities.

Registration for the event is open until January 27 via the Kreativwirtschaft Hessen homepage, where participants can also find details about the program and the participating funding agencies. Several organizations have already confirmed their participation in the planned speed-dating sessions, including HessenFilm & Medien, Innovationsförderung Hessen, RKW Hessen, StartHub Hessen, WIBank, Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt Kompetenzzentrum Kreativwirtschaft, and Wirtschaftsförderung Wiesbaden Team Gründungen.

The event will begin with a welcome speech from a representative of the Hessian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas. This will be followed by an update on Game Hessen from Claudia Stricker and Jan Klose. Afterward, a keynote speech—yet to be confirmed—and a panel discussion are planned with the participation of David Harth and Dr. Ursula Vossen, among others.

Hessen is one of the most important federal states for the German games industry due to the presence of German offices of international publishers, although, unlike Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia or Bavaria, it puts significantly less into the promotion of games. Sony Interactive Entertainment, Nintendo, Bandai Namco and Bethesda/ZeniMax, among others, have their German headquarters in Hessen. But the German industry is also represented. In Frankfurt, three studios with an international reputation are based: Crytek, Deck13 and Keen Games. Assemble Entertainment, the company of Stefan Marcinek, is based in Wiesbaden.
