He made music for The Guild 2, then Paradox games such as Victoria 3 and Crusader Kings. Now he is Music Business Consultant for the Swedish strategy giant. And strategy games still define Yannick Süß's professional live and nostalgia for game music.

GamesMarkt: Lead us into the interview with a soundtrack: What one music piece of yours are you most proud of and why?
I'll choose "A New Day Awakens" from Victoria 3: Songs of the Homeland, which was released just a few months ago. This soundtrack was very much inspired by common themes from the romantic era, that composers of the era used for depicting their homeland musically, too. "A New Day Awakens" is basically a big orchestral crescendo, with the first rays of sunshine glancing over the mountain summits and nature slowly awakening at the break of day. Just a few weeks ago I heard this piece performed live in concert in Munich by the renowned Munich Radio Orchestra, giving me goosebumps for five and a half minutes straight. Witnessing their wonderful performance really made me feel proud.
What brought you to make game music?
