At the start of the week, game companies funded by the EU Creative Europe Media program gathered in Brussels for a conference organised by the European Commission The goal was to look back on the funding procedures and to gather input for the next Creative Media Europe funding round, from 2028 to 2034.

The conference brought together funded companies from all over Europe: The Game Bakers from France, PortaPlay from Denmark, Maru VR from Estonia and Dreamfeel Limited from Ireland, to name a few. The event was opened by Alessandra Luchetti, Head of Department for Creativity, Citizens, EU Values and Joint Operations as well as Lucia Recalde Langarica, Head of Unit for the Audiovisual Industry and Media Support Programmes of the EU Commission.

One panel in particular was set with GSA industry experts: Talking “Opportunities for the future: Beyond development support”, moderator David Deleu and Matteo Lana from Italian Tiny Bull Studios discussed with Benjamin Lochmann from Pixel Maniacs, Thierry Baujard of SpielFabrique and Valentina Birke of Super Crowd. Linda Kruse of the Good Evil was part of a Lessons Learned panel as well, discussing the overlaps between national and international funding.
