In September, game - the German Games Industry Association honoured two games with game Sales Awards in Gold, as each achieved over 100,000 sales in Germany. One award went to Nintendo and the other to 2K Games.
In September 2025, game - the German Games Industry Association presented two game Sales Awards for particularly strong-selling games. Mafia: The Old Country won an award for selling more than 100,000 copies in Germany. This game, developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games, was released on 8 August 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The second award went to Nintendo for Donkey Kong Bananza. This 3D platformer was released on 17 July 2025, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.

The game Sales Award is presented by game, the German Games Industry Association, to recognise the best-selling computer and video games in Germany. It is based on the latest sales figures from Video Games Europe's industry panel, GSD (Game Sales Data). Titles that sell more than 100,000, 200,000, 400,000 or 600,000 copies across all platforms in Germany within the first 12 months of release are eligible for a game Sales Award in the Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum or Multi-Platinum categories.
