Publisher Kalypso Media and developer Kite Games have announced Sudden Strike 5. This real-time strategy game is set to launch on PC and consoles in 2026.

Kalypso Media is continuing the well-known Sudden Strike franchise. Sudden Strike 5 is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. The game features real-time tactics set during World War II, with more than 300 playable units, offering multiple ways to achieve objectives across 25 missions set on historical European and North African battlefields.

"Timing is key, seize opportunities like capturing strategic locations to gain access to reinforcements or destroying bridges to cut-off enemy movement. Outsmart your enemies while managing supplies, and make sure you are in the right place at the right time to turn the tide of battle," Kalypso Media said.

Kite Games in Budapest is developing the game once again. The company was also responsible for Sudden Strike 4 (2017). Like Commandos, Sudden Strike is a long-standing franchise that the publisher is continuing. The first instalment was released in 2000, followed by its sequel in 2002 and Sudden Strike 3: Arms for Victory in 2007.
