Little Nightmares 3 and Monster Hunter Wilds picked up multiple awards at this year's gamescom awards. One award also went to Bavaria to Gentle Troll. Meanwhile, the Microsoft-Xbox-Bethesda-Blizzard mega-booth was named Best of Show Floor.

At the closing hours of the business area at gamescom and just in time for the start of the gamescom weekend, the winners of this year's gamescom awards were announced. Capcom and Bandai Namco in particular, as well as 11bit Studios, had plenty to celebrate.

Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds won in the categories of Most Entertaining, Most Epic, Best PlayStation Game and Best Trailer/Announcement. Bandai Namco's Little Nightmares 3 won in the Best Visuals, Best Sound and Best Xbox Game categories. 11bit Studios won two categories, but with two different games: Creatures of Ava won in the Games for Impact category. Frostpunk 2 won Best Gameplay.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II by Plaion (Best PC Game) and Genshin Impact by HoYoverse (Best Mobile Game) also won. The Bavarian developer Gentle Troll won the Most Wholesome Game award for Tavern Talk. The special Heart of gamescom award went to Spiele schützen die Demokratie (games that protect democracy), and Tencent Games received the gamescom Sustainability Award at ONL. This year's Best of Showfloor award went to the huge Microsoft Xbox stand, which also featured Activision and Blizzard.
