gamescom With a New Record Number of Registrations After Early-Bird Phase
Following the early-bird phase, Koelnmesse and game have already recorded a 27% increase in registrations for gamescom compared to the same period in 2024. Numerous national pavilions have also been confirmed.
With more than five months to go before gamescom kicks off in Cologne, the trade fair is already on track to set new records. As Koelnmesse and game announced at the close of the early-bird phase for marketing floor space, company interest is higher than ever, with registrations up 27% year-on-year.
According to the organisers, this strong response underscores gamescom’s growing international significance. This is also reflected in other key figures: so far, registrations have been received from 46 countries, and numerous national pavilions have already been confirmed. These include Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Dubai, France, Greece, Italy, Korea, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Qatar, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
In addition to national pavilions, several joint stands have also been confirmed. This year will once again feature the Indie Arena Booth and Home of Indies, two dedicated indie areas. Many German federal states have also encouraged local studios to register for a planned joint stand.
Oliver Frese, Executive Vice President and COO of Koelnmesse says: "The early-bird phase for gamescom 2025 has exceeded all expectations. The significant increase compared to last year's record figures makes it clear that gamescom is indispensable for the global games industry. The huge interest and the feedback from the industry are a real boost for us and encourage us to organise another superlative gamescom this year."
"gamescom is the international flagship event of the gaming year. The record number of participants compared to the cut-off date once again shows how firmly it is established as a must-attend event for the global games industry. We are therefore already looking forward to a unique gamescom in 2025," adds Felix Falk, Managing Director of game - Verband der deutschen Games-Branche (The German Games Industry Association).
gamescom 2024 ended with partly record numbers of 335,000 visitors, including 32,000 trade visitors and 1462 exhibitors, 71 percent of whom came from abroad.
