gamescom awards: These are the nominees

The jury has made its decision and announced this year's nominees for the gamescom Award. The Opening Night Live marks the start of voting, which also involves the community.

This year's gamescom awards will be presented in 16 categories, divided into Arts, Platform and Global. After the pre-selection by the extensive jury, which also included GamesMarkt editor Marcel Kleffmann, the jury and the audience or fans will decide on the final winners. Voting starts with the opening night live (ONL) on Tuesday evening.

Armoured Core VI: Fires of Rubicon from Bandai Namco Entertainment is the favourite for the gamescom Award. The game has a total of seven nominations. Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom follows with four nominations, ahead of Emberstorm Entertainment/Fireshine Games' REKA and Stray Fawn Studio's The Wandering Village with three nominations each.

The decision in the gamescom Green Studio of the Year category will be made independently of the main voting and will be announced during ONL. All other awards will be announced at the gamescom award show on Friday in the gamescom studio in Hall 8, hosted by IGN.
