Indie Arena Booth Plans Larger Booth and Calls for Submissions
Indie games studios from around the world have until 9 April to apply for a paid space at this year’s Indie Arena Booth (IAB) at gamescom. Free spots are also available through partners such as Nintendo and Games for Democracy, as well as through national funding initiatives.
One thing is already certain: the Indie Arena Booth at gamescom 2025, organized as always by Super Crowd, will be bigger than ever. Covering 2,037.5 square metres, it will provide space for even more indie games to be showcased.
Studios looking for a presence at the IAB have several options. Paid booths are available in different sizes, with the types Small Booth and Arcade Booths priced at €3,000 and the type Big Booth at €5,000. Reduced-price and free booths are also available, thanks to long-standing partnerships with various organizations.
Nintendo is continuing its partnership with the IAB, offering eight indie developers the opportunity to showcase their Switch games free of charge. Another dedicated space is sponsored by the undeszentrale für politische Bildung (bpb; Federal Agency for Civic Education), focusing on the theme "Games for Democracy."
Many of the discounted or free spots are secured through collaborations with regional and national funding bodies. Internationally, the IAB has partnered with organisations such as the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies, the Flanders Audiovisual Fund, Northern Ireland Screen, and Swiss Games.
In Germany, key partners include Gamecity Hamburg, Games/Bavaria, the Hessen Office for Cultural and Creative Industries, the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, and MFG Baden-Württemberg.
