Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck will open this year's gamescom, as he did last year. This has been announced by the organisers of gamescom and Koelnmesse.

Once again this year, a high-ranking visitor from Berlin is travelling to the opening of gamescom. As the game - Association of the German Games Industry and Koelnmesse have now confirmed, Robert Habeck is expected to attend the opening. The Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economics had already opened the trade fair last year after having to cancel his planned visit in 2022 at short notice due to current developments in connection with the Russia-Ukraine war.

Robert Habeck's visit is likely to be followed with interest by the industry, as there is a lot going on, especially when it comes to responsibilities for the games industry and federal funding for games.
