A total of ten prizes, including two special prizes, were awarded at the GamesPreis25 Awards as part of the GamesFestival in Munich. The festival is aimed specifically at young talent.

The winners of the GamesPreis25 were honoured at this year's GamesFestival. The prize honours outstanding projects by young people from Bavaria relating to games and digital games culture. Four awards were awarded in each of two age categories – for finished games, prototypes and contributions to digital games culture. Two special awards also went to projects with previously unseen, invisible or overlooked stories, game mechanics, characters or design elements with the special prize The Unseen.

The GamesPreis25 is part of the GamesFestival, which is organised by the ComputerSpielAkademie at the Munich Media Centre of the JFF - Institut für Medienpädagogik (Institute for Media Education) and the Bayerischer Jugendring (Bavarian Youth Council). It is sponsored by the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs, the Social Department/City Youth Office/Youth Cultural Office and the Cultural Department of the City of Munich, as well as Games/Bavaria.
