NRW Digital Minister Ina Scharrenbach Visits Fusion Campus
In a roundtable discussion with representatives from Amprion, DZ BANK, SMS Group and TK Elevator, the Digital Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia learned how companies can benefit from the games industry's expertise.
The exchange between business and politics was moderated by gamification experts Fusion Campus, who hosted the meeting. Ina Scharrenbach, Minister of the Interior, Local Government, Building and Digitalisation of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited Fusion Campus in her capacity as Digital Minister of the most populous German state.
On site, she had a relaxed chat with representatives from power grid operator Amprion, DZ Bank, plant manufacturer SMS Group and lift and escalator technology provider TK Elevator. All four companies from non-gaming industries have in common that they use gamification in parts of their business processes, be it in HR, in communication on global construction sites or in documentation and compliance with KPIs.
"The government is often not the better programmer"

Accordingly, the Minister's visit was not about specific games from NRW or Germany, but about how companies, but also the administration, can benefit from the know-how of the games industry. "In order to advance the digitalisation of public administration, it helps to look beyond your own keyboard. The government is often not the better programmer," says the Digital Minister. The innovative solutions of Fusion Campus are an excellent example and inspiration. Here, technologies and methods from the gaming industry are being used in an exemplary manner in order to apply them to the work of companies. "In order to further develop City Hall 2.0 and to simplify and speed up digital administration for citizens, the Fusion Campus can provide can provide innovative impulses," Scharrenbach added.
Fusion Campus is supported by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Its official partners are the Düsseldorf Economic Development Agency and Ubisoft Blue Byte, where Fusion Campus is based.
