How many German game companies are travelling to GDC this year? We do not know for sure regarding attendance, but what we do know are the visitor numbers of the traditional German Pavilion now. 13 companies will exhibit in the German Pavilion, organised by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy and AUMA. This marks a relatively stable outcome, although a downwards trend is visible: Last year, there were 14 companies. In 2024, there were 17 German companies in the Pavilion.

Missing from companies that had exhibited before are names like Deck 13 Interactive, BXDXO, Black Screen Records, Emergo Entertainment and Rockfish. The current list is instead relatively saturated with service providers.

These are the companies exhibiting:

  • 4-Real Intermedia GmbH
  • BAD Spiele Studio UG
  • Bigpoint GmbH
  • Couchplay - CTV Games
  • gamescom dev
  • Ociris GmbH - Gportal
  • infoBoard Europe GmbH
  • Koelnmesse GmbH
  • Marketpoint GmbH
  • Mothership Talents by You First I Gersh
  • Photon Engine by Exit Games GmbH
  • XR Bootcamp

While the German association game has assured that the attendance of German companies at GDC will remain strong and GDC organisers have commented in an interview with GamesMarket that they will ensure security for European visitors as far as the situation is in their control, it remains to be seen how the attendance numbers this year will develop.
