Gentle Troll Entertainment to Release Tavern Talk on 20 June
After a very successful Kickstarter campaign and a lot of positive feedback, Gentle Troll Entertainment will release the visual novel Tavern Talk for PC on 20 June. The team from Würzburg is also preparing a Switch version for the summer.
Indie developer Gentle Troll Entertainment has released a new demo for its cozy visual novel game Tavern Talk. It features "new language translations, new story content and the highly requested ability to pet Andu," says the company. The visual novel, described as "Coffee Talk meets Dungeons & Dragons", will be released on PC via Steam on 20 June 2024 and on Nintendo Switch this summer.
Description of the game: "You walk into a tavern ... and get to work! You are the owner of the Wayfarer's Inn, a popular watering hole in the fantasy land of Asteria. But you're no ordinary barkeep. Be it a potion of seething fury or prancing swords, the drinks you serve can change your customer’s destiny forever. You can also turn the rumours you hear at work into heroic quests for your patrons!"
Gentle Troll Entertainment from Würzburg has received funding from the FFF Bayern and the budgetary funds of the Free State of Bavaria for prototype development. They also received national funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (131,780 Euros). A Kickstarter campaign also contributed 156,335 Euros from a total of 3,461 backers.
Gentle Troll Entertainment was founded in 2014. They have delivered more than 20 educational games of different genres, developed for PC, web and mobile in collaboration with industry clients. Now they want to develop games for the entertainment market, starting with Tavern Talk, which will be self-published.
