The date has been set. The Deutscher Entwicklerpreis 2025 (German Developer Award) will be presented in Cologne on 2 December. The ceremony will be held at the Gürzenich in the city's Old Town district. Submissions are now open.

On 2 December 2025, the best computer games from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be honoured at the Deutscher Entwicklerpreis (DEP) awards ceremony. As in previous years, the ceremony will be held at the Gürzenich in Cologne's Old Town. Until 12 noon on 1 September 2025, developer teams, publishers and newcomers can submit their games at www.deutscherentwicklerpreis.de in the hope of winning one of the 14 awards.

The Deutscher Entwicklerpreis 2025 will be awarded in the following categories: - Bestes Deutsches Spiel / Best German Game - Studio des Jahres / Studio of the Year - Bestes Indie Game / Best Indie Game - Bestes Casual Game / Best Casual Game - Bestes Game Beyond Entertainment / Best Game Beyond Entertainment - Bestes Audiodesign / Best Audio Design - Bestes Gamedesign / Best Game Design - Beste Grafik / Best Graphics - Beste Story / Best Story - Beste Technische Leistung / Best Technical Achievement - Innovationspreis / Innovation Award - Ubisoft Newcomer Award / Ubisoft Newcomer Award - Sonderpreis der Jury / Special Jury Prize - NRW-Förderpreis / NRW Promotion Prize

The Deutscher Entwicklerpreis (German Developer Award) has been presented annually since 2004. It recognises exceptional contributions to the development of video and computer games in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The award is politically independent and supported by the games industry. The award ceremony is organised by games.nrw e.V., an interest group that represents the digital games industry in North Rhine-Westphalia.
