German Creative Economy Summit Returns in Early March
The second German Creative Economy Summit is set to take place in Hamburg on March 5 and 6, 2025, following the success of its inaugural edition. Claudia Roth and Michael Kellner will officially open the two-day conference.
Organized by Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, where also the local initiative Gamecity Hamburg is based, the summit brings together representatives from politics and the creative industries, including music, film, games, books, press, art, architecture, design, advertising, and broadcasting. The German Creative Economy Summit will once again be held in Hamburg.
While many details are still being finalized, the conference will focus on key topics such as "Work & Education", "Urbanization & Sustainability", "Policy" and "Technology & Innovation. Across the two days, more than 100 renowned speakers are expected to deliver over 60 keynotes, participate in panels and workshops, and lead masterclasses.
The conference will be opened by Claudia Roth, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, alongside Michael Kellner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and federal government’s official contact for the cultural and creative industries.
"We live in a time when creative ideas are increasingly becoming the engine of social and economic transformation. This is also reflected in the importance of urban creative industry funding, such as the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, which is essential to driving the German economy as a whole," says Egbert Rühl, Managing Director Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft.
