Microsoft and Asus are launching the ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally on 16 October 2025. The handhelds will be available in the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam, as well as Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Slovenia, South Africa, Thailand and Ukraine.
The handhelds are available to purchase in Germany via the ASUS ROG eShop and Media Markt. The handhelds will also be available in the following additional markets, where the ROG Ally series is currently sold: Brazil, China, India, Luxembourg, Malaysia, the Philippines and Switzerland. There are currently no plans to launch the product in Austria.
The ROG Ally, powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 processor and equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 60 Wh battery, is priced at €599 ($599). The more powerful ROG Ally X version, featuring an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, an integrated NPU and an 80 Wh battery, is priced at €899 ($999). Both support AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) and AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF).
The Xbox Ally handheld features a "Xbox full screen experience", powered by Windows 11, and inspired by the console user experience. "With new modifications that minimize background activity and defer non-essential tasks, more system resources are dedicated specifically to gameplay," Microsoft said. "A dedicated Xbox button opens an enhanced Game Bar overlay for Windows 11, making it easy to return home, browse your library, launch or quit games, chat with friends, access ROG's (...) Armoury Crate SE, and more. An aggregated gaming library gives you quick access to games from Xbox, Game Pass (where available), and installed games from Battle.net and other leading PC stores."
Xbox: "Our Handheld Compatibility Program, a new Xbox initiative that indicates which games play great on handheld. At launch, thousands of titles will be Handheld Optimized or Mostly Compatible, making it easier to find games that are ready to play on your Xbox Ally."
