Valve Reportedly Banning DLC with Adult Content

To the bans of Early Access adult games on Steam come further crackdowns on adult content in DLC for existing games, developers report. Some devs have even put their game on hiatus because of the insecurity of further guideline changes.
In a further crackdown agains sexually explicit material on Steam, Valve now not only stops adult games from entering Early Access, but is now reportedly taking aim at DLC to existing games. According to an affected developer, Crimson Delight Games, in a developer update to their title Tales of Legendary Lust: Aphrodisia, Valve no longer allows sexual content in DLC, whether the base game already includes explicit content or not.
“We had plans to add a few more lewd scenes to the base game while working on the DLC, but Valve doesn't allow post-launch NSFW content for an app that's already been through their review process and has released on the store. There is nothing we can do about this - it's their rule, and breaking it would result in the game being removed from Steam. So please take that into consideration when asking for more lewd content for the base game”, the developer shared in a recent update.
Other developers have chimed in as well. DarkChibiShadow, the studio behind free Early Access title Solanaceae: After All, a cosy visual novel with LGBTQIA+ sexual content, has put the game’s development on hiatus because of Steam’s changing guidelines around adult games. “Work on the game has paused until I can finish the Solanaceae comic and see how Steam's policies might change in the future”, the dev shared in a Steam update.
Valve has as of yet not commented on the issue and has not officially updated their developer guidelines around this. GamesMarket has reached out for a statement.
