Turtle Beach Buries German Accessories Brand Roccat
Five years after its acquisition, Turtle Beach is removing the Roccat brand from its portfolio. However, some product lines of the Hamburg-based brand will continue.
Looking for Roccat? Click here" is the current message not only on the German homepage of Turtle Beach. Following the link takes you to a Q&A page where the company explains that it wants to bring a "greater level of integration" to the product family. "We felt that time and resources would be best spent focusing under a single brand and creating a range of products that matter most to gamers". In other words, Turtle Beach is giving up on the Roccat brand, which it acquired (in German) in 2019 for $15 million, along with the team in Hamburg.
But the end of Roccat does not mean the end of the products. Turtle Beach has stated that it intends to continue the Vulcan, Kone, Burst and Sense product lines, but under the Turtle Beach umbrella. Support for products already sold will also continue unchanged. Turtle Beach will even continue to operate its social media channels, albeit under the Turtle Beach PC name. However, there is no official press release regarding the end of the Roccat brand.
