Following the success of the winter semester, the Media department at Hochschule Darmstadt (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences) is continuing its series of talks with representatives from the games industry. Five events are planned from May to July, focussing on practical topics.

The Game Industry Talks lecture series at the Media Campus of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is organised by Prof. Stephan Jacob. The Animation & Game degree programme is formally inviting to the five events, which will take place between May and July 2024 on Wednesdays at 5.45 pm. However, participation is open to all interested parties and is free of charge. The presentations will be followed by a Q&A and networking session.

The lecture series took place for the first time last winter semester (in German) in December and January. Back then, speakers included Jan Theysen (King Art), Annika Thun (Kalypso Media), Lina Schlotter (Disney Animation) and Seckin Akgül (Bethesda).

The following speakers and topics are planned this time:
  • 08 May 2024: Tinko Wiezorrek, Lead Character Artist at Keen Games - "Character Art of Enshrouded"
  • 22 May 2024: Marius Kröger, Katja Mudragelja and Alex Helbig, Envision Entertainment - "Stylized 3D Tech Art for Strategy Games" + Getting Started in the Industry
  • 05 June 2024: Andreas Wilsdorf, Acting Line Producer at EA - "Producing of AAA Games"
  • 19 June 2024: Adrian Goersch, CEO at Black Forest - "Industry Insights"
  • 3 July 2024: Carina Heller, M.A.R.K. 13 - "Visual Art Development for Animations"
