Unter der Geschäftsbilanz des Internet-Auktionshauses eBay für das Jahr 2001 stehen schwarze Zahlen.

Das US-Auktionshaus eBay hat im vierten Quartal 2001 einen Umsatz von 219,4 Mio. US-Dollar generiert und einen Nettogewinn von 25,9 Mio. US-Dollar erzielt. Im Vergleich zum dritten Quartal des vergangenen Jahres stieg der Umsatz damit um 64 Prozent. Gute Ergebnisse verkündete das Internetunternehmen auch für das gesamte Geschäftsjahr 2001, sowohl Umsatz als auch Gewinn wurden erheblich gesteigert: Mit einem Umsatzwachstum von 74 Prozent auf 748,8 Mio. US-Dollar fuhr eBay einen Jahresnettogewinn von 90,4 Mio. US-Dollar ein.
