The role of gaming and gamification in employer branding will be explored from a scientific, business and political perspective on 8 and 9 April at the Digital Campus Zollverein in Essen.

The event "Gaming in Employer Branding | Schulterblick" on Monday, 8 April 2024 and Tuesday, 9 April 2024 is the logical follow-up to the last "Schulterblick" event "Winning over young talent with gaming" on 11 May 2023 in the Vonovia Ruhrstadion of VfL Bochum. "Together, we want to delve deeper into the topics of gaming and gamification and discuss their significance for employer branding. Various practical examples will also be discussed and presented," write the organisers.

After the opening by Nathanael Liminski, Minister for Federal and European Affairs, International Affairs and Media of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Head of the State Chancellery, Monday's programme will focus on professional football and its parallels in HR marketing (Patrick Fabian, Managing Director Sport, VfL Bochum 1848), the importance of narrative for a successful campaign in gaming (Hendrik Ruhe, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Instinct3) and the Werksliga will also present its recruiting concept around e-sports. After gaming, gamification will take centre stage on Tuesday. On the following two days, members of the Digital Campus Zollverein will take the controller in the Company Gaming Cup. The programme is available here.

Bruno Latorre, Business Development & Partnerships Manager at Uniliga, will also give a presentation on "Recruiting & Employer Branding in E-Sports at Universities" on Monday at 15:15. "I am delighted to be speaking at Digital Campus Zollverein. Companies that already recognise that gaming and e-sports are becoming increasingly relevant in employer branding have an advantage in recruiting," says Latorre. "In my presentation, I will talk about the opportunities for employers in the university environment to position themselves as an attractive employer to potential employees at an early stage. I will back this up with practical examples and show how these trends can be successfully integrated into corporate strategy.
